An outgrowth of the Slow Food Movement, Slow Money is a national movement encouraging investing “as if food, farms and fertility mattered.” The group emphasizes connecting investors to the places where they live, creating vital relationships and new sources of capital for small food enterprises. Local Slow Food organizer Kelly Childs will talk about her efforts to kickstart Slow Money in St. Louis. Meet Kelly and hear from other independent businesses about the challenges and opportunities they’ve encountered.
